How is size formed in a closed cooling tower? 

The closed cooling tower has a set of cooling coils, which exchange heat through air, spray water and cooling circulating water to achieve the cooling effect. The inside of the cooling coil is cooling circulating water, and the outside is a large amount of circulating spray water。 Because the cooling coil temperature of the closed cooling tower is very high, when a large number of circulating spray water is sprayed on the cooling coil, the calcium bicarbonate and magnesium bicarbonate in the water are combined with carbon dioxide in the air under the action of high temperature, leaving calcium carbonate on the surface of the cooling coil. The same is true of the inside of the cooling coil, which will also form scale over time。 

Scale is unfriendly to the closed cooling tower and will directly reduce the cooling effect of the cooling tower. Because the surface of the cooling coil is attached to a thick layer of scale, the spray water can not directly contact the cooling coil, the temperature can only be transferred indirectly by the scale, and the thermal conductivity is greatly reduced。

Limescale is a weak alkaline substance, so the traditional way of descaling would be to use some acid descalers such as hydrochloric acid to remove the scale. But long-term use of hydrochloric acid will cause serious corrosion of non-ferrous metals, and long-term damage to equipment, and hydrochloric acid for the human body is also more serious, so we usually do not recommend customers use an acid descaling agent to descale。

In general, a closed cooling tower can be used for 10 years, but due to the impact of scale and the result of pickling, the life of the equipment will be reduced to about years. Once the cooling effect of the closed cooling tower deteriorates, it will begin to replace the components and make various repairs。
